The second generation of ArtFrame E-Ink devices is here. It took some time, but the upgraded hardware is here. There are a lot of improvements compared to the first generation:

The ArtFrames have – beside their display, obviously – a pretty minimalistic interface to the user and observers: Only one flush-mounted momentary switch with an LED ring to signal that the device is currently awake.

Today, a new frame joins FrameLabs’ device portfolio of e-paper based picture frames: a version of the ArtFrame featuring a huge 31.2" e-paper panel. The staggering screen estate is almost five times larger than the previously largest ArtFrame.

The wireless ArtFrame epaper devices have supported fetching images via WiFi ever since their release. With firmware version 1.4 and above, they allow for dynamic refresh intervals to be set by the remote host when operating in WiFi mode.
